Percutaneous Lumbar Posterior Stabilization (Zyfuse)

The zyfuse ( Facet Fixation System) is a minimally invasive technique; it consists of a modern percoutaneus system to fix the lumbar spine. The patient obtains back pain relief and physiologically maintains spine movements.

This new system is indicated in patients who suffer of non responsive back pain, presenting  radiological lumbar discopathy or instability.

The procedure lasts about 45 minutes,  in general anaesthesia; the technique is based on percoutaneus (1-2 cm skin incision) introduction and  radioscopic control of trans-articular  titanium screws covered by hydrossiapatite; these screws guarantee immediate spine stability and fixation and do not interact with magnetic fields.

This particular technique ensures the same surgical outcome as other percoutaneus or open techniques; the advantage is based on minimal surgical trauma on the paravertebral muscular structures and the subsequent  reduction in postoperative pain. The procedure is safe preserving the nervous structures.

In the post-operative period the patients walk after a couple of hours and usually after 7days they can start entertaining their everyday working and sporting activities.
